There are no known laws prohibiting the sale, use, or ownership of radar detectors in the State of New Jersey.

Federal DOT regulations, however, outlaw radar detectors in all commercial vehicles over 10,000 pounds.

In addition, radar detectors are illegal to employ on US Military Bases.
